    Yoga in Cuba?! That’s exactly what I thought.

    I think you summed it up perfectly;
    “Cuba and salsa? Yes. Cuba and cigars? Oh yes. Cuba and classic cars? Of course. But Cuba and Yoga?”.

    Never thought I’d hear about a retreat there, let alone a Cuban Yoga Association. But then again, looking at when it was established (1990), one can see how young the art is in the country.

    Cubans have had it hard for a long time. And a yoga retreat over there is probably the best place to learn about “doing more with less”. The people have a never-give-up attitude that a lot of us can take home.

    Lovely article as always Namita. Especially like the words of wisdom that you’ve sprinkled across; “Believe in yourself and take the long shots”.

    I’ll be taking a look at the documentary for sure, and will keep the resort in mind when I decide to take a dive into Cuba myself.

    Best,

      Thank you so much Jason, for your thoughtful comment. So glad you enjoyed reading and could relate to it! When you do visit Cuba, you’re going to love this retreat centre. Couldn’t reply earlier as I’ve been travelling in Bali the last month. Wish you happy travels and have a great day!

    My fiance is asking me to take a trip here with her. I have not seen any men in pictures of the resort. I know that all are welcome, would this retreat be comfortable for a couple, in your opinion?

  3. Namita Kulkarni says:

    Oh yes it would be great for a couple. We happened to be an all-women group that week but there are just as many men at the retreat as well, among the guests and the staff too. They take really good care of all the details and the food by head chef Ernesto is especially amazing. You’ll have a wonderful time and when you do go, say hey to the team there from me 🙂
