Loved it. Every Incident is described without losing the essence.

  2. Mansi says:

This is such a brilliant piece. You have captured the essence of travel goof ups and artsy cults. I just kept cracking up.. 😃

    • Namita Kulkarni says:

So glad you enjoyed reading Mansi! Was a tricky one to write and convey all this humor through the written word so I’m glad to hear it made you laugh out loud 😀 We do need a good laugh these days!

  3. Too funny! I assume guides say the most outlandish things to entertain themselves, mostly. It has got to get boring giving the same tours day in and day out. That one about the zip line attendant saying it was his first day at work, had me gasping and laughing. I would totally be freaking out in your shoes! These gave me a good chuckle, thanks for sharing!

    • Namita Kulkarni says:

Yup that sounds quite right. I’d love a tour of the inside of a guide’s brain someday, considering the far-out things I’ve heard many of them say LOL. I did freak out on the inside when he said that but then I was also trying to play it cool 😛 So glad you enjoyed reading!

Ha! The post had me giggling throughout, Namita. I’m looking forward to hearing more posts featuring hilarious stories from your journeys. 🙂 We should do another podcast episode soon where you share some of these stories. As you rightly said, we all could do with humour in these times.

    • Namita Kulkarni says:

Yess that would be so fun! Loved recording that new episode with you the other day. So glad this one made you giggle all the way 😀

  5. So loved this. You got me smiling all the way, wishing I remembered the funny conversations thrown my way, too!

  6. Savannah says:

This is amazingly written and so funny! I hope I travel enough and experience enough to have similar stories one day!

    • Namita Kulkarni says:

Thank you so much Savannah, I’m sure you’re going to travel so much more and have way crazier stories 🙂 Cheers to that!

Your post reminded me of all the funny, curious and bizarre conversations I have had over the years traveling. As you were setting the stage for the first conversation in the restaurant I felt like I was there overhearing the words being said by the table next to me. Sometimes the conversations you are not actually a part of can also be the funniest or most memorable! (Although, that one without context I would have been very concerned!)

    • Namita Kulkarni says:

LOLOL yup I can imagine if someone did overhear us at that table, it would raise an eyebrow or two 😉 So glad the post reminded you of some of the funny and bizarre conversations you’ve had on the road! If you do get around to sharing them someday I’d love to read. And yes I’ve overheard some strange bits of conversations too, wish I’d written them down somewhere 😛 Glad you enjoyed reading these!

  8. Renata says:

Loved reading this – and actually, I could add many many hilarious translations and conversations. Major fun when travelling, for sure. Keep laughing 😀

    • Namita Kulkarni says:

I would love to read about them Renata! Let me know if you ever put them down somewhere 🙂 So glad you loved reading this!

  9. Kemi says:

Laughed all the way through 😂😂😂 I did ziplining too and the guides all had those funny remarks pretending the cables weren’t tight. Smh.

    • Namita Kulkarni says:

Oh wow. Loose cable jokes are decidedly not funny in the moment but yes hilarious in hindsight! So glad it made you laugh all the way through 😀 Yayyyy!

  10. Pubali says:

Hilarious! Loves reading all the stories! 🙂 And yes, these days I too do miss these fun interactions while on the road.
